About the Marketing Nerd Team

Marketing Nerd was built to help small business owners avoid the confusion of random marketing — and to make sure every recommendation comes from someone who’s actually done the work.

Our team is made up of operators, builders, and strategists. We’ve built and run service businesses ourselves, worked alongside contractors, tradespeople, and small business owners, and gone hands-on across the full marketing stack: designing websites, running SEO and Google Ads, configuring CRMs, and shipping automation workflows that actually move the needle.

The Business Building Machine is the playbook that came out of that work. It came from a simple observation we kept seeing: most small businesses are not failing because they lack marketing knowledge. They are failing because they are building things in the wrong order, at the wrong time, for the wrong reason. The framework exists to fix that.

Small businesses are often sold websites, ads, SEO, software, and automations before anyone has helped them clarify the business foundation.

A new business owner buys a website before they have a clear offer. A startup runs Facebook ads before they have validated demand. A service business buys CRM software before their delivery process is documented. Each of these is a well-marketed solution sold at the wrong time.

Marketing Nerd exists to slow down the guessing and speed up the right execution. Not by selling a service, but by diagnosing what phase the business is in first — then building only what that phase requires.
